Heike Kemmer is back with a new talent. Impressing with the wonderful Caesar during the 1998 show season, Kemmer now opts for the Oldenburger gelding Albano.
Sired by Argentinus out of a Grundstein I daughter, Albano comes from the breeding stable of Robert Wilkens in Oldenburg, Germany. The pair made their international debut in '99 by winning the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Speciale test at the CDI Ebreichsdorf, Austria.
At the German Dressage Championships Kemmer placed fifth in the ladies competition and performed a freestyle that gave her a seventh place at the championships. The Argentinus descendant continued to impress at the CHIO Aachen where he placed 12th in the Grand Prix and 14th in the Special, following the supreme dressage top closely.
The twelve year old gelding also had his downs in his first year of international competition, however at the CDI in Bremen in the beginning of October Kemmer pushed her mount to 3rd and 4th position following Dutch ladies Van Grunsven and Bontje with a small distance.
