Mary woke me up at 5 AM because she planned to leave at 6. We packed some more stuff in the camper and left Deleon Springs
at 6.30 AM. Our destination for today was Applewood Farm in Alpharetta, Georgia and it took us until 5 PM to get there. The ride from Florida to Georgia was gorgeous.
All the way I watched outside looking at the changing landscape. From swampy, tropical Florida, to a more bushy South Georgia, to a dry cotton field dominated North Georgia. It was my very first time that I saw cotton fields and they immediately reminded me of the tv show North and South and the book Uncle Tom's Cabin. The traffic in Atlanta was a total disaster.
When we arrived on the belt way round Atlanta it wasn't even rush hour but the traffic was horrible already. Applewood farm is located in Crabapple, GA, which is part of Alpharetta, a suburb of Atlanta. Applewood farm is the home of "America's Secret Weapon", Michelle Gibson.
Michelle's parents Marie and Marshall gave us a very warm welcome. We set up the camper next to the indoor arena and spent the evening watching the Telethon. My favourite songs, by the way, were the ones by Limp Bizkit, Eddie Vedder and Sheryl Crow.
