The recent departure of KWPN licensed stallion Junior STV from Anky van Grunsven's barn to Anne van Olst's training facility was the subject of many articles in European equestrian publications.
It is mainly because Anky van Grunsven "lost" two Grand Prix horses within the same time period (Kir Royal also found a new home in Germany) that reports were dedicated to this news.
However, Danish dressage rider Anne van Olst reported Eurodressage that Junior's owner, Stoeterij het Vierspan, did not "take away" the stallion from Anky and give him a new rider, but that it was Anky herself who offered Van Olst to train and show the flamboyant dapple grey Uniform get. Anne van Olst also added that it was only Any How who unfortunately died last year, and not Dempsey as Eurodressage reported. Her Danish bred Dempsey (by Dan Senator x Guter Gast xx) is still very much alive.
Anne van Olst was born in Alborg in 1963, Denmark, and was a dedicated show jumping rider at the beginning of her equestrian career. In 1987, however, she made her Grand Prix debut aboard Le Fiere with whom she rode the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea. With Chevalier she became the Danish Dressage Champion in 1993. Since then, Anne has been multiple team member of the Danish Dressage Equipe. Her horse collection included mounts like Chronos, Chronos II, Potomac, Dempsey, Any How, Rafurstinsels and Negro. In 1991, Anne moved to Holland where she married Gert Jan van Olst and established a training facility in Den Hout, The Netherlands.
