Belgian Grand Prix rider Johan Zagers suprisingly finished fourth at the CDI Zwolle International Stallion Show, February 27 - March 3, 2002.
Aboard the Belgian warmblood stallion Mister Saygon, Zagers scored 64.40% in the Grand Prix, finishing fourth behind established combinations Lisa Wilcox/Relevant, Ellen Bontje/Gestion Champion and Tineke Bartels/Jazz. In the Grand Prix Kur to Music, the Essent Best Stallion Finals, the Belgian duo finished sixth with 68.10%.
Mister Saygon is a BWP licensed stallion by Saygon x Sudan and owned by Mr Laermans from Bekkevoort. Eddy Swennen trained him as youngster and in 1994 the stallion competed at the Belgian Young Horse Dressage Championships in Gesves. Johan Zagers is aiming at qualifying for the World Championships in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, with this horse. The Belgian criterium for individual qualification is receiving 66% twice from an O-judge at a CDI competition. Judge Jan Peeters gave Zagers this score in Zwolle. One more to go!
