Dressage rider Tineke Bartels has taken up the position of chairwoman of the Athletes' Commission at the Dutch Equestrian Federation (KNHS). Bartels, wife of Joep Bartels
, who is the president of the BCM Equestrian Show Management and equestrian magazine De Hoefslag, will preside the commission which is further constituted by Wout-Jan van der Schans (jumping), Anky van Grunsven (dressage), Adriaan Smeulders (eventing), IJsbrand Chardon (driving), Janet van Wijk (endurance), Cynthia Danvers (voltige) and Jolande van der Valk (reining).
The KHNS Athletes' Commission has stipulated the improvement of the communication between top sport athletes and the Dutch Equestrian Federation as its primary goal. Bartels and the Athletes' Commission will also defend the rights of the riders within the KNHS.
