Dutch dressage rider Hans Peter Minderhoud has decided to start his own business and is leaving the stallion station of Gert Jan and Anne van Olst. This means that he will also lose the ride of Rubels (by Rafurstinsels)
, the horse that made him famous in Holland and the world by winning the World Young Horse Championships two years in a row.
Hans Peter Minderhoud has moved to an equestrian centre in Leur, where show jumping rider Robert Puck is also located. He will devote his time to training and competiting dressage horses.
He still has the Prix St Georges horse Washington, with whom he rode the World Young Horse Championships in 2000, the Hanoverian licensed young stallion Whisper and the KWPN licensed stallion Kennedy (by Ferro).
Minderhoud is currently Kennedy's fourth rider. The first licensed son by Olympic Ferro rose to stardom under Birgit van der Eyken as top winning young horse, he then got into training with Leida Strijk, but as she moved to England, Kennedy moved to Edward Gal's. Kennedy's owner Jan Bardoel ended his contract with Gal and moved his stallion to Minderhoud who will compete the black at Prix St Georges level this year.
