Danish Lone Jorgenssen has sold her 14-year old Grand Prix horse FBW Kennedy to Jane Clark from the United States. Jane Clark sponsors Robert Dover, who will be riding FBW Kennedy in the American selection trials for the 2004 Olympic Games.
The news about Kennedy's sale has been 'the' talk at Dressage at Devon. FBW Kennedy arrived in New York last Wednesday.
"They made an offer I couldn't refuse," Lone Jorgenssen explained, "Kennedy is 15 years now and at his prime. It's would have been crazy of me to reject the money."
FBW Kennedy is a Baden-Wurttemberger gelding by Tiro, who was purchased by Lone Jorgenssen and Ulrich Eggers for 25,000 Deutsch Mark at the Marbach auction. Since 1997, Kennedy and Lone participated in all major championships, except the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome. Jorgenssen won team bronze at the 1999 and 2001 European Championships and rode the individual finals at the 2000 Olympic Games and 2002 World Equestrian Games.
