Following the annual Trakehner stallion licensing is the auction of approved and non-approved stallions. Highlight of this year's auction was not Licensing Champion In Flagranti, but the black stallion April First.
Sired by Buddenbrock out of Atara xx (by Lagunas xx), April First achieved a top knock down price of 130,000 €. Again a Danish breeder bought the most expensive horse, as in Verden a Danish lady purchased the Rohdiamant x Sao Paulo for 200,000 €. April First will be granted a majestic life because he is moving to Blue Hors Stud in Randbol, Denmark.
Licensing Champion In Flagranti (by Buddenbrock x Kennedy) was sold to the Bavarian State Stud Schwaiganger for 85,000 €. The reserve licensing champion Couracius (Sixtus x Caprimond), who was praised for his basic gaits and beauty, sold for 60,000 € to Gestut Hörstein.
The licensed stallions Ilux (Latimer x Giorgio Armani) and Titulus (Kasparow x Timber) were auctioned for 25,000 € and have found a new home in Canada.
