German Grand Prix dressage rider Martin Schaudt had a severe road accident today on the A 81 on his way from Stuttgart to Dortmund. A truck rammed into Schaudt's horse transporter, damaging his horse truck so severely
that two of his horses, his Grand Prix star Weltall VA and a youngster, were able to break out of the lorry and run off.
Both horses were fortunately caught along the highway and only suffering had some skin lacerations (besides being traumatised). Martin Schaudt himself remained unharmed in the accident. He was on his way to the competition in Dortmund, which starts today and runs till Sunday.
