2004 Performance Plus: A Look into the Collection 1
Cat # 40: De Niro x Weltmeyer - Dark Bay gelding - born 2001
Catalogue nr. 40 is the second De Niro offspring in the Performance Plus collection. He is yet another dressage talent from the Donnerhall dynasty. Sire of this 3-year old dark bay horse is the Hanoverian licensed stallion De Niro, who won his first Grand Prix as a 7-yr-old and brought his rider Dolf Dietram Keller to the title of the German Professional Dressage Rider Champion in 2001.
The influence of this stallion in breeding is enormous. De Niro, born in 1993, already has more than 35 licensed sons. De Niro has also been a well represented stallion in auctions at Verden and Vechta.
At the 2003 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, the reserve champion of the licensing was a De Niro x Weltmeyer offspring who sold for 127,000 euro to Klosterhof Medingen.
Cat nr 40 enherited De Niro's temperament and rideability as well as his beautiful dark coat.
On the dam side, this 3-year old son of De Niro goes back to the ´Hauptstutbuch´ mare Worldlight, a daughter of the world-famous Weltmeyer. This stallion, whose strong hind legs and powerful engagement has been his trademark feature to pass on to his offspring, is a foundation stallion for the celebrated W-lineage in Hanover. Weltmeyer did, directly or through his numerous sons, exercise an enormous influence on modern dressage horse breeding. The English thoroughbred Star Regent xx contributed the necessary drop of ‘blood’ to this pedigree.
Cat # 56: Espri x Westwall - Chestnut gelding - born 1997
This 7-year old Hanoverian bred gelding by Espri is a pleasure to ride. He has a lot of ´go´, is a willing worker and easy to handle. The elegant gelding is performing at Third level (M2 in Holland - L in Germany) in dressage and has powerful movements.
Sire Espri has earned world fame through his son ET FRH, the moneymaker of Hugo Simon. But not only ET is an advertisement for Espri.
The winnings of his offspring amounts in 2004, according to the Hanoverian Annual, to no less than 1,5 million Euros. Besides ET, also the international showjumping horses Explosiv and Elwood helped to accumulate this sum.
Dam Wildranke is a daughter of the stallion Westwall. The dam’s line goes back via main studbook mare Trentino to the Hanoverian stallions Trapper and Woermann, infusing the necessary amount of power and 'go' throught T- and W line.
Dam Sire Westwall is to be found back in many dam lines of approved stallions and horses winning in breed shows. Eisbrand (Escudo II x Westwall), for instance, was performance test in Celle in 2001.
Cat nr 56 has the performance spirit of Espri combined with the solid bloodlines of dam sire Westwall.
He's a compact horse, easy to ride and with the best temperament.
