Sofie Jeppesen won the 2004 Danish FEI Pony Dressage Championships at the Vallensbaek Equestrian Centre in Denmark last weekend.
Aboard her licensed Welsh pony stallion Coelenhage's Purioso (by Let's be the Best x IJsselvliedt's Primeur), Jeppesen scored 70.00% and 69.42%, claiming her first national title in Category 1.
Coelenhage's Purioso was purchased in The Netherlands, where he competed under Tinet Schutte. Jeppesen competed the lovely bay stallion at the 2004 European Pony Championships this year, finished third in the consolation finals and fourth with the Danish team in the Nation's Cup.
Tasting winner's glory is not new from Jeppesen. She has already been Danish pony champion before, but on Kosmo Ike in category 3 at the 2002 Danish Championships.
Danish Reserve Champion was the experienced pony rider Tina Nielsen on Filur. The pair scored 69,78% and 68.26% which kept them 1.39% short of the overall victory. In third place were Kristina Moller on the Eurodressage.com Equimarket pony Jupiter.
The best scoring combination of the weekend was Charlotte Nissen on Moonlight. They won the category 2 Championship with a grand total of 141.65% scoring 70,56% and 71.10% in their two championship rides.
In Denmark, the FEI Pony classes are divided into categories, which classify the ponies according to their height. Category 1 are the ponies measuring more than 14.0 hh.
