The Hanoverian stallion Gestion Lancet has been sold to the British Emma Hindle. Lancet passed the vet check this week and yesterday he got fully insured under his new owner Emma Hindle.
According the Dirk Willem Rosie of the KWPN Verband, there was a huge interest in Lancet even before the Olympic Games. Under Imke Schellekens-Bartels, Lancet won three international CDI's this year and became Holland's second best scoring horse at the Games in Athens. Rosie claimed that one of the interested parties was also Ulrich Kasselmann.
Bred by Jorg Classen in Hiddestorf, Germany, Lancet is a dark bay stallion by Wenzel out of St. Pr. St Asta (by Shogun xx). Lancet came to the Netherlands as a youngster. He is owned by Jacques Marée and was ridden by Gerdine Marée, who competed Lancet in the Dutch Young Horse show circuit. For the FEI Tour, Maréé passed on the horse to Imke Schellekens.
We have mixed feelings about the sale of Lancet," owner Jacques Marée said, "of course we want to see the horse represent the Netherlands, but there is also a commercial side to it. Lancet is not a stallion like Jazz, who produces a big income every year. We had to make this decision, no matter how sad this is for Imke."
Although Imke's parents Joep and Tineke Bartels owned 25% of Lancet, Imke is still heart struck by the sale of her talented stallion, which she put in the international limelight by training and competing him at top level.
Prior to her purchase of Lancet, Hindle tried out Roxinho at the Vechta Elite Auction and it has been rumoured that she had also shown an interest in Gestion Lingh.
