The KWPN licensed breeding stallion Jazz (by Cocktail) has been sold to Broere Stud in Ablasserdam, The Netherlands. Broere already became a 10% owner of Jazz in 2001, when he was purchased by a syndicate of ten people to prevent the horse from being sold abroad.
The Broere stud and brood farm now decided to buy the chestnut stallion completely.
The 13-year old Jazz was trained and competed at Grand Prix level by Tineke Bartels. The pair was member of the Dutch team at the 2002 World Equestrian Games and this year they won the CDI in Eindhoven.
Jazz' biggest value, however, lies in the breeding market. With five licensed offspring and numerous successful get competing in the show ring (Patser, Royal Dancer, Robin Hood, etc.) Jazz is one of the most used and most valuable KWPN stallions at the moment.
With the departure of Lancet and Jazz, Tineke Bartels and her Horse Academy have lost two of their best Grand Prix horses. "He were negotiating about Jazz' sale a long time and everything happened on the best terms," Tineke Bartels commented. "We've had a super collaboration between the ten owners over the years. Nico Witte, who organized the sale to Broere, and I are saddened by the departure of Jazz, but we are happy that he goes to Broere."
Jazz will be standing at stud at Broere farm, but will also be breeding at De Dalhoeve and Lauw van Vliet. Hopefully, Broere's leading rider Kirsten Beckers will be competing the stallion as well.
