Uptown, the KWPN Stallion Licensing Champion of 2004, will be trained by Hans Peter Minderhoud. Uptown's owners Toine Hoefs, Kathy Connelly and Al Guden have decided to give the ride of Uptown
to multiple Young Horse World Champion rider Hans Peter Minderhoud. "I think Uptown is an extremely beautiful horse. He's very eager to work, has three very good gaits and is pleasant to ride," Hans Peter said.
Uptown is a bay Kennedy x Ubis offspring and he just won the Stallion Performance Test last Friday November 12, 2004, with top scores for dressage. Bred by Mr. Jurruis, Uptown scored 8.5 for walk, trot and canter and 9.0 for dressage potential. Despite his low jumping scores (between 5 and 5.5), the stallion did become the Champion of the KWPN autumn Stallion Performance Testing.
Minderhoud attended the finals of the Performance test past Friday and said. "Uptown looked very frisky at the beginning. Then he was a bit tense, biut gradually he started to feel at ease and showed everyone his fullest potential."
Uptown will go to Hans Peter Minderhoud's barn in December to start his dressage training.
