Colombian Olympic dressage rider Dr. Cesar Parra has a new star in his barn, the 8-year old Hanoverian licensed stallion Wild Dance. Parra's long time sponsors Ann Whitten and Marylou Sparks of Horses Unlimited have purchased this chestnut stallion
as Parra's equine partner for achieving a 2008 Bejing Olympic berth.
Dr. Cesar Parra, who lives and trains in the United States, is ecstatic about his new horse. "He's really rideable and very pretty," Cesar Parra said. "He was the winner of the HLP test, two times finallist in the Bundeschampionate and he has already won some S-classes."
Wild Dance is a 1997 born Hanoverian stallion by Wolkenstein II out of St. Pr. St. Milva (Matcho AA x Goldstein). He is Hanoverian licensed, winner of the Stallion Performance test (with 140 points) and is also approved for the Oldenburg, Hessian, Westfalian and Rhinelander Verband. German Grand Prix rider Falk Rosenbauer presented Wild Dance at the 2001 and 2002 Bundeschampionate Finals in Warendorf.
The stallion is currently in training with Hubertus Schmidt in Paderborn, Germany, and will stay there for seven months. Parra will travel to Europe this spring to compete the horse in Euroep. "He will come home for Devon [in September], where I will show him in the small tour," Parra explained.
