The top Danish warmblood stallion Milan DVH 682 has been selected for the Danish Grand Prix Talent Squad, a special team of horses that will be trained by Danish team trainer Rudolf Zeilinger. The current Danish Grand Prix team horses
and only four rising stars are accepted into this squad. Milan and his steady rider Dorte Johansen were picked by Zeilinger as talents for the future.
Milan DVH 682 was the Danish Warmblood Licensing Champion as a 3-year old and became Premium Stallion Champion as a 4-year old at the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning. Sired by Michellino out of Chianti Skovvang (by Manstein x Kawango), Milan scored a 10 for confirmation and a 10 for rideability and potential under his test rider at the Stallion Performance Test.
Milan has been showing at Prix St Georges - Intermediaire I level in Denmark, consistently scoring upper 70% marks and is Grand Prix ready. The dark bay stallion shows a brilliant piaffe and passage and will be a real asset to the Danish Grand Prix team.
"Dorte has been working for me and has been riding Milan the last two years," Milan's owner Jorgen Olsen said. "In training he does everything for the Grand Prix, so in half a year he'll be ready to show it."
Milan is a very popular breeding stallion in Denmark and covered 105 mares in 2004. The Michellino offspring, which is known to be hot, does not so much affect Milan "He's one gear lower and so far he has produced very rideable horses," Olsen explained. Though extremely hot, Michellino has made a lot of good horses with the right nerve for Grand Prix. The 10-year old Milan is standing in the top 10 of the Danish warmblood dressage horse index.
