The licensed KWPN stallion UB40 has been sold to Iron Spring Farm in Coateville, PA, USA. The chestnut stallion is by Olivi x Michelangelo and he will become a barn mate of the KWPN stallion Sir Sinclair (Lord Sinclair x Flemmingh) at Iron Spring Farm.
"We are very excited about this stallion. He is very modern in type and movement and he has a super mind," Meghan de Garay of Iron Spring Farm told Eurodressage. "He will be a great cross with our own mares as well as with a lot of the North American mares. There is a real need for new young stallions for the NA Dutch breeding program and we felt he would really be a good fit."
UB40 is bred by Mr. Van Os and was owned by Wim Zegwaard, who is one of Holland's biggest horse owners and dealers. Zegwaard purchased UB40 at the 2004 KWPN Select Sale Auction for the top price of 145,000 euro. The stallion was trained by Mischa Koot and Kebie van der Heyden. In the United States, he will be ridden by Belinda Nairn-Wertman who also competes ISF's Sir Sinclair and Goffert.
