A New Horse and a Baby for Nicky Barrett. Life's been looking good for British Grand Prix rider Nicky Barrett. A syndicate of clients purchased a new FEI talent for Barrett, who is a former British Grand Prix Champion. The 7-year old licensed Hessian registered stallion Faberge (Fidermark x Pazifik), who competed at the 2004 Bundeschampionate under Heiner Schiergen, is Barrett's new star for the future. "I'm hoping to do small tour next year and more exciting stuff to follow," Barrett told Eurodressage Though the future looks bright now for Barrett, she went through some rough times. Her baby Milo got born three months early and has been in the hospital since, but fortunately he will be released soon. A new horse and a healthy baby, congratulations Nicky!
Amselhof Walle, Heike Kemmer's equestrian facility, is closing its stallion stationand is moving all breeding stallions to different stud. Kemmer will use her Amselhof in Walle, Germany, as a training center for dressage horses and youngsters.
At the 2005 AOS Auktion of Paul Schockemohle, 22,000 euro was the top knock down price for a foal. The bay mare Ballerina (by Balou de Rouet x Calato) sold for 22,000 euro. Two stallion prospects sold for 100,000 euro. The 2-year old colt Baco (by Balou de Rouet x Caletto) and the 2-year old colt San Fit (by Sandro Hit x Florestan) both sold for that top price
British Prix St Georges rider Gemma Green bought the AES approved stallionShowtime (by Contango x Democraat x Wisconsin). The bay stallion was competed in The Netherlands by Karen Nijvelt. Showtime sold to England through the brokerage of Henk van Bergen. The Dutch owners of this stallion were (this takes up pages): Karen Nijvelt, Twan van Woensel, Arno Hollander, Nol and Jeanette Gerritsen, and Henk and Elly de Man.
The Oldenburg mare De La Frontera has been sold to the United States. This De Niro x Argentinus mare was competed at Prix St Georges level by Willem Jan Schotte. She was owned by Stal Goubergh in Roosendaal who purchased the mare at the Oldenburg Auction in Vechta.
Charlotte Bredahl has taken over the ride on Komo, the 13-year old KWPN registered Grand Prix horse of the late Carol Plough. Komo and Bredahl competed at the Dressage Association of Southern California's Championships a few weeks ago.
We also heard that American Grand Prix rider Karen Lipp is currently training with Klaus Balkenhol in Germany and having the time of her life. Lipp has one lovely Grand Prix horse named Caribi and is sponsored by Jeff and Shereen Fuqua of Collecting Gaits Farms in Alpharetta, Georgia.
