Swedish Grand Prix dressage riders Pether Markne and Per Sandgaard are moving house. The pair is currently renting stables in the Ericsberg Castle in Katrineholm, Sweden, but they have decided to build their own barn in Arphus, Sweden.
"It's a dream we've had for a long time, to build something of our own," Pether Markne told Ekuriren magazine. "We first started to look at places in Skåne, but my son lives in Strangnas and now I can visit him more often. We looked at places in the north and in the south, but wanted something close to the highway. Now, we'll have a place right off the E20. We are going to build our dream barn and constructions should finish in June next year."
Pether Markne was a former member of the Swedish Olympic Dressage team with Flyinge Amiral. His life partner Per Sandgaard competed on the Danish team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, but Sandgaard recently changes nationality and became Swedish.
