The extravagantly moving and licensed Welcome Sir has become the price highlight of the 2006 KWPN Select Sale, the auction of licensed and non-licensed stallions following the 2006 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
Welcome Sir sold for 220,000 euro to Mary Alice Malone of Iron Spring Farm in Coatesville, PA, USA. The bay stallion is by Iron Spring Farm's Sir Sinclair out of Kissable (by Fruhling x Lucky Boy xx). He was bred and presented at auction by Mr. Ten Bosch. Welcome Sir has a huge moving mechanism, but is currently moving slightly downhill and his neck could be higher set. He will stay in The Netherlands until after the stallion performance test.
The second most expensive stallion was Whatever, a Krack C x Ulft, that sold for 125,000 euro. The stallion will go to dressage rider Yvonne Copal, who's known for riding the young Krack C licensed stallion Tuschinski.
Complete results of the auction will be posted here
