One day after announcing the licensed stallions at the 2006 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing, the grading committee selected the premium stallions and the champions of the year.
Champions in the 3-year old class were dressage colt Blue Hors Schufro Hit and show jumping prospect Krake.
The committee took no risks by awarding Schufro Hit the title. The bay Sandro Hit x Don Schufro x Inschallah AA colt, which is owned and bred by Blue Hors, was the crowd favourite with his extravagantly supple trot, but the horse was not able to present a decent walk at the licensing. Though his top line could have been stronger, Schufro Hit is a very modern built dressage stallion with a good shoulder and a nice neck.
Schufro Hit probably was the best trotting horse at the licensing, but maybe the licensing committee could have made a bolder statement by selecting more interesting bloodlines than Sandro Hit x Don Schufro and guiding breeders in a newer direction of horse breeding.
A fun, trivial show fact was that Blue Hors manager Esben Moller ran one round with his newly graded stallion, sharing the sprints with Blue Hors top rider Andreas Helgstrand. Afterwards, Moller got a champagne shower in the stables.
Naming Krake the best show jumping colt of the licensing was very correct. Krake (by Krunch de Breve) has a lovely conformation, a decent movement mechanism and fantastic jumping potential with much scope and stretch in the body.
Krake is bred by Niels Hausgaard and he sold at the licensing to Stutteri Ask, virtually the show jumping division of Blue Hors Stud.
