The 2006 USEF National Grand Prix Freestyle Championship/U.S. League Finals CDI-W is a dual championship being held in conjunction with the Zada Enterprises, LLC, Winter Equestrian Festival Dressage Classic CDI***/W in Wellington, Florida, March 16-19, 2006.
It is one competition serving the purposes of crowning the USEF National Grand Prix Freestyle Champion and at the same time serving as the U.S League Final, determining the two horse-and-rider combinations that will go to the World Cup Finals in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, April 20-23.
The following combinations have qualified for the U.S League Final and will be contending for the two World Cup Final slots as well as the USEF National Championship title:
• Leslie Morse of Beverly Hills, CA, and Tip Top, her 12-year-old Swedish Warmblood stallion
• Arlene Page of Wellington, FL, and her Wild One, a 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding
• George Williams of Delaware, OH, and Marnix, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, owned by Charles and Joann Smith, of Richwood, OH
• Karen Lipp of Ball Ground, GA, and Caribi, a 13-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, owned by Shereen Fuqua of Atlanta, GA
The competition will consist of two tests, the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle; but only the Grand Prix Freestyle will determine the overall U.S League Final placement and the top two combinations which will go on to compete at the World Cup Final.
The following combinations will join those listed above in competing for the USEF National Grand Prix Freestyle Championship title:
• Michael Barisone of Califon, NJ, and Neruda, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, owned by Jane Suwalsky of Long Valley, NJ, and Barisone
• Pierre St Jacques of Boscawen, NH, and his Lucky Tiger, an 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding
• Jessica Jo Tate of Walworth, WI, and her Cambay, a 14-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding
• Melissa Taylor Yee of Wellington, FL, and Success, an 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, owned by Lars Petersen of Denmark
• Karin Offield of Harbor Springs, MI, and her Hexagon’s Louisville, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion
The Grand Prix will be held on Friday, March 17 at 7:00 pm and the Grand Prix Freestyle will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 7:00 pm.
