British world class performance rider Emma Hindle and her Hanoverian licensed stallion Lancet (Wenzel x Shogun xx) are off to a great start in the 2006 outdoor show season. At the international competition in Stadl Paura
, Austria, April 13-16, 2006, the pair reigned supreme in the Grand Prix with a winning score of 70.75%.
They bested a field of 30 top notch international combinations. In the Grand Prix Special, the duo landed a distinguished second place earning a 69.92% score. A mistake in the one-tempi’s on the centreline cost them the victory, though they remained closely on the heels of the winner with only 0.20% point difference.
“I was very happy with him. We really seem to be on the right way now,” a joyful Emma Hindle said. “I feel that he works with me more and that we have a much better understanding of each other. We can grow from there.”
At the CDI Stadl Paura, Hindle also made her show debut on her new small tour horse Riccione. Aboard this 10-year old Hanoverian stallion by Regazzoni x Arogno she placed fifteenth with a 65.83% score and was thoroughly satisfied with his first international outing at FEI level.
“I’m really proud of him. He behaved well on his first time out and didn’t act silly around the mares,” Hindle explained. “All he has ever done is breed. He has 15 approved sons. He’s lovely to ride, but still needs more work. It was a very good start,” she said.
By achieving these outstanding scores in the big tour at Stadl Paura, Emma has secured her place on the British team that will compete at the CDIO Aachen, May 17-21, 2006, in preparation of the 2006 World Equestrian Games that are hosted at the same venue in August.
