With the 2006 show season steadily progressing towards the season highlight, the 2006 World Equestrian Games, more individuals are qualifying themselves to compete at the WEG which are held in Aachen, Germany, at the end of August. Latest WEG qualificant is Igor Maver.
Slovenian international rider Igor Maver qualified to represent his country at the World Equestrian Games by achieving his WEG qualification score (64% from 2 different O-judges) at the CDI Brno, Czech Republic, last weekend.
Maver will be riding stallion Favory Canissa XXII, a lipizzaner sire from the Lipica stud farm. It is the first time in sixteen years that a Lippizaner horse will be showing again at a World Championships.
"I am very happy and I look forward to represent my country and the lipizzan horse at the World Championships," Maver told Eurodressage. "I think this is a big success for Slovenian dressage sport and our stud farm Lipica."
