Sussex’s Hickstead Dressage showground will play host to a bevy of international stars at the International CHIO Dressage Show from 24 to 30 July. Bolney’s Dane Rawlins is delighted with the received entry which will include international teams from the Netherlands
, France, Germany and Great Britain to contest the Nations Cup team competition. Furthermore, double Olympic Champion Anky van Grunsven had entered to compete at Hickstead.
Among the other entries are Imke Schellekens-Bartels of the Netherlands, Leslie Morse of the USA and local resident Kyra Kyrklund of Finland, now living near Coolham. For Great Britain Wayne Channon and Sandy Phillips join Laura Bechtolsheimer and will be using the opportunity as "dress rehearsal" for the 2006 World Equestrian Games in later in August.
The week long championships start on Monday 24 July with the finals of the Dressage Masters League and the Rhinegold British Young Horse Championships. The international classes commence on Thursday 27 July and the programme climaxes with the Freestyle to Music on Sunday 30 July.
The All England Hickstead Showground is just off the A23 London to Brighton road at Sayers Common.
