French anchor rider Karen Tebar is continuing her string of success this 2006 show season with more high placings at the CDI Lingen. After a huge break through victory in the Grand Prix Special at the CDI Dortmund in March, Tebar has confirmed she's able to be in key
with the world's best dressage riders in Germany and abroad.
At the CDI Lingen, Tebar finished fourth in the Grand Prix 71,17 % and fourth in the Kur to Music with 75,3%. The Waiblingen (GER) based rider shared her impressions of Lingen with the French Equestrian Federation.
"It was quite an impressing competition with the world's top ten riders. It was very interesting to compete there. Falada presented herself really well and in particularly in the piaffe and passage, for which we got good marks. We made very small mistakes in the flying changes, which cost us some points, but in the kur there were no mistakes at all. I made some changes to the choreography to get more fluidity in the test. I also changed the music a bit. I wanted it to be more cheerful and vibrant," Tebar said.
France's number one Grand Prix rider will compete at the CDI Fritzens at the end of July as final preparation for the 2006 World Equestrian Games. Her training strategy for the WEG is not very different from her normal routine.
"I will train Falada the same way I've been doing the past few weeks. She'll get a little break soon and then we start doing the basic work again. It's good to have one more show coming up. It allows us to stay in the competition mode. "
The French short listed riders for the WEG underwent a training seminar at the Cadre Noir in Saumur with team trainer Monica Theodorescu on July 10-12, 2006. Participants in this seminar were Constance Menard, Hubert Perring, Dominique D'Esme and Odile van Doorn. Julia Chevanne-Gimel was not there as she is competing Calimucho at the CDI Vierzon July 13-15, 2006.
