For the third time the Marbach Weekend combines the Elite Sport Horse Auction, a warmblood stallion körung (approval) under saddle and a draft horse körung. It is the 40th anniversary of the Elite Sport Horse Auction.
The fireworks of events start on November the 10th, 2006 at 10am in the big arena of the Marbach Stud Farm with a free jumping of the aspiring stud stallions. The approval of the stallions and the draft horse auction are scheduled from noon until 2 pm. From 2 pm on the sport horse stallions are presented under the saddle.
The Thomas-Konle-Cup starts at 4pm. Only young riders under the age of 25 with horses that are bred by their families are eligible to start in this challenging show jumping event.
The gala show starts at 7pm with the breeder’s awards, the presentation of the Weilheim state champion mare, and of the successful participants in the German championship in Warendorf. Last but not least, all sport horses that are for sale in the auction will be presented as well. The results of the körung will be announced and the winning stallion will be introduced. As usual there is a surprise waiting for the guests, therefore the details are not being disclosed yet.
The auction begins on Saturday morning at 9.30 with a free jumping of all stallions that are for sale, and a free jumping of some of the auction horses. This is followed by the final presentation of all the specially selected auction horses.
As it is the tradition, auctioneer Uwe Heckman will take over at 2.30 pm. His job is it to sell the approved stallions that are for sale, as well as approx. 30 sport horses and a number of sport ponies to the highest bidders.
The horses that have been selected for the auction can all be considered excellent prospects. Susanne Mechlem, the marketing manager will present them to the public for the first time on the last weekend in October.
