The surprise winners of the 6-year old Dressage Horse division: Sandra Kotter on Farewell III (by Fidermark). The dark bay stallion, known for his rambunctious behaviour, finally had his act together in Warendorf and won the championship.
World Champions in August and "only" Reserve German Champions in September: Ingrid Klimke with Damon Hill NRW (by Donnerhall x Rubinstein). Ingrid Klimke kept her good grace, of course, as always, but she was not happy with her results, which Christoph Hess audibly _hated_ to deliver, and judge Hans-Peter Schmitz had difficulties explaining.
