The Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA) has announced the dressage squads for 2007. The Australian National Selection Panel for Dressage has confirmed three national squads, which will now also form the Olympic Shadow Team for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Equestrian competition will, of course take place in Hong Kong.
The Holding List is a part of the National Elite Squad. Combinations that have previously been on the National Elite Squad but are temporarily not competing due to a variety of reasons affecting either the horse or the rider may be placed on the Holding List. In principle, combinations may remain on the Holding List for up to 12 months only. If they do not resume competition at a level deemed satisfactory by the National Dressage Selectors within 12 months from the date of their placement on the Holding List they will be removed from the Elite List.
For dressage, three squads have been created: the Elite Squad, the Elite Holding Squad and the Development Squad.
