If there was one eyecatcher than it was a liver chestnut by former runner up in the world championships of young dressage horses Brookhouse Stud's Diamond Hit. The colt Don Diamond, looking like his famous grandsire Don Schufro, was bred out of a Carolus (Holst.) x Wenzel-mare and is branded Wuerttemberg. Excellent basic paces, a groundcovering picture perfect rhythmical walk, tremendous trot work with a very active hindquarter and lots of impulsion, plus a very good uphill canter are the characteristic features of the champion stallion.
He was shown by Birkhof Stud that after 2006 champion Denario by Denaro got his second overall champion in two consecutive years. Of course the champion was not for sale and will be serving at Birkhof stud locates 60 kilometeres south east from Stuttgart.
Runner up was a big framed chestnut from the first crop of former Trakehner champion stallion Elfengeist out of an Oldenburg dam by Figaro-Aktuell. The dam performed successfully to Intermediaire 1 level. Very good trot and uphill canter make this Wuerttermberg stallion a true prospect for the coming Bundechampionate. He was presented by Schlossaecker stud and will start his career there.
Second reserve premium stallion was awarded to a very typey Bellissimo-Rivero II-Adlerschild (TB) bay. A long legged, very impressive mover with that certain charming something so often looked for. This stallion was purchased by the Moritzburg state stud in the auction for 59,000 euro.
Top priced stallion was a jumper by Quite Capitol for whom the Bachl stud paid 155,000 Euro.
