The 13-year old Maria van den Dungen won the 2007 KNHS Dutch Indoor Championships for FEI Pony Riders in Wanroij, The Netherlands, on Saturday evening March 10, 2007. Aboard the German Reitpony stallion Pan Tau B (by Power Star), Van den Dungen scored 68.20%
and reigned supreme.
The Amsterdam based Van den Dungen daily trains with Hans and Cora Arends and goes for test practise to judge Kees Verhoeven. She has three world class quality FEI pony's at her disposal, but for the KNHS Indoor Championships she chose to ride her newest acquisition Pan Tau B, which she purchased from German A-team pony rider Louise Luttgen only four weeks ago.
"I'm very happy with this win," an ecstatic Van den Dungen said. "I really have a great connection with Pan Tau B and I feel there is so much more in him."
Angela Krooswijk and the experienced Power and Paint (by Power Boy) placed second with 67.30%. Van den Dungen and Krooswijk produced far superior rides to the other competitors. The third placed combination, Annarein Kerbert and Cinderella de Bois, achieved a score of 61.70%.
