The German Equestrian Federation (FN) has announced the creation of a new dressage test and show circuit for upcoming Grand Prix horses. The show circuit is called "HKM Upcoming Grand Prix Horses" and riders can only enter 8 to 10-year old Grand Prix horses.
The show circuit is sponsored by HKM Sports Equipment.
"With this test, we want to make the way to Grand Prix a bit more easy for upcoming Grand Prix horses," said Christoph Hess, head of the FN training department.
Like in the Grand Prix, piaffe, passage, transitions and tempi changes every single stride are part of the Upcoming Grand Prix Test, but in moderation.
The goal of the new test is to bridge the gap between small tour and big tour level. The German Equestrian Federation has experienced that the difficulty level between Intermediaire I and Grand Prix is often too great for rider and horse. With the new HKM Upcoming Grand Prix Horse show circuit, they hope to create a better influx of Grand Prix horses in Germany via the new show circuit.
The 2007 HKM Upcoming Grand Prix Horse test has been scheduled at five shows in Germany.
