Kim Goodyear has resigned as Chair of Dressage Canada High Performance and as Canadian Dressage Chef d'Equipe on February 9, 2007. This was announced by Dressage Canada on February 13, 2007.

Goodyear (49) has been a valued Chair of High Performance for Dressage Canada for the past six years. In that time she has worked diligently in an attempt to provide all of Canada’s High Performance riders, owners, coaches, competition organizers and colleagues at both Dressage Canada and Equine Canada, with the support and recognition that they have required.

She has served the Canadian Dressage Team through many team selection trials and international competitions including the 2002 World Equestrian Games, the 2003 Open European Championships, the 2003 Pan American Games, the 2004 Athens Olympics, and most recently the 2006 WEG in Aachen, Germany. She was instrumental in the hiring of the current Senior Team Coach, and has always been committed to the goals of High Performance athletes.

Goodyear’s dedication to Dressage Canada’s High Performance Committee has been much appreciated, and it is no doubt that she will be missed.

Christine Peters, Manager of Dressage at Equine Canada, will act as interim contact person. She can be reached by email at: cpeters@equinecanada.ca
