The Belgian Grand Prix horse Jade has been sold to the British Joanne Grace, who is based at stable De Wittenberg in Herentals, Belgium. Under Mieke Lunskens, Jade was memeber of the Belgian team that competed at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen.

The 16-year old Trakehner gelding by Ressort x Linxo was owned by the Japanese Reiko Newton, who lives in Braine L'Alleud, Belgium.

Rider Mieke Lunskens is distraught by the sudden sale of her mount only weeks after she had to part with her old WEG horse Abner.

"I don't know what's happening to me. Saturday morning I had ridden Jade and seen his Japanese owner and that same afternoon somebody in the stable questioned why Jade was being loaded on a German trailer," Lunskens told the Belgian equestrian site Galop. "Jade was taken away and I didn't know about anything. No explanation, no comment from no-one. This is just unbelievable and unacceptable. I'm astounded by such an attitude."

Mieke Lunskens and Jade won gold at the 2004 Belgian Dressage Championships and silver at the 2005 Belgian Dressage Championships. The pair also competed at the 2005 European Dressage Championships in Hagen.
