Following the CDIO Rotterdam, Dutch team trainer Sjef Janssen and team manager Mariette Sanders announced a few changes to the initial team they had proposed to send to the CDIO Aachen.
After a mediocre performance of Alex van Silfhout on a spooky and stressed Luxform's Nimbly, Janssen decided to replace the pair with come-back kids Laurens van Lieren and Hexagon's Ollright who returned to the show ring with success after a long period of injury.
Apparently during the warm up in Rotterdam, Nimbly spooked from the loud noises surrounding the ring and from the boarding workmen were still placing against the fence at that time. Nimbly scored only 62% in the Grand Prix on Thursday. "There is no reason for me to go to Aachen like this. We have to get some rest and confidence back first," van Silfhout explained.
Anky van Grunsven will be riding her number one horse Salinero. "He rested the entire winter and can use a little more show routine," Anky stated. The other two Dutch team members are Kirsten Beckers on Broere Jazz and Hans Peter Minderhoud on Exquis Nadine.
