The KWPN stallion Vivaldi (Krack C x Jazz) has taken the lead in the 2007 Pavo Cup Finals for 5-year olds held at the KWPN Paardendagen in Ermelo, The Netherlands, this week.
Under Hans Peter Minderhoud, the chestnut stallion scored 91 points in total in the semi-finals, which was 0.50 points more than Mirelle van Kemenade aboard the licensed stallion Vivaldo (Polansky x Montecristo). Minderhoud and the stallion Johnson (Jazz x Flemmingh) placed third with 90 points.
The highest ranked mare took fourth place. Christa Laarakkers and the liver chestnut Vironia (Oscar x Weinberg) scored 89 points. The highest ranked gelding covered fifth place with 87 points: Vontango (by Contango x Jazz) under Madeleine Witte.
The finals take place on Thursday. The top six ranked horses will be ridden by guest judges Seth Boschman and Carl Hester.
Westpoint Leads in 4-year old Division of 2007 Pavo Cup Finals
The KWPN licensed stallion Westpoint is leading after the semi finals of the 4-year old division in the 2007 Pavo Cup Finals held at the KWPN Paardendagen in Ermelo, The Netherlands, this week.
Under Emmelie Scholtens, the black Jazz x Michelangelo offspring obtained the highest score of 90 points of 115 4-year old dressage horses in total. In addition, Scholtens placed in the top 25 with six out of seven horses she's riding in the Pavo Cup Finals.
Bart Veeze and the KWPN mare Winoa (Jazz x Flemmingh) placed second. This mare, which finished third at the KWPN Elite Mare Show last year, got 83 points. Alex van Silfhout and the mare Wodini (by Gribaldi x Zeoliet) landed a third place with 82 points. She tied with Patrick van der Meer's Karolus van Wittenstein (Krack C x Partout).
Place five to seven went to licensed stallions Westenwind (81), Wynton (80,5), Webster (80) and Winnningmood (80). The 4-year old Finals are held on Thursday morning August 16, 2007. The top six horses will be ridden by guest judges Seth Bosman and Carl Hester.
