The Westfalian licensed and KWPN approved stallion Florencio won the 2008 VHO Trophy at the 2008 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
The VHO Trophy is a special prize for the winning stallion that competed of the VHO Trophy class which features only small tour and big tour kurs to music.
Hans Peter Minderhoud and the bay elastic beauty by Florestan x Weltmeyer scored 78.58%, the top score of the class. The second best small tour horse was the chestnut Scandic (by Solos Carex). Under the Swedish Patrik Kittel, Scandic scored 72.83%. Diederik van Silfhout and Special D received 70.16% from the judges' panel.
The Trakehner stallion Gribaldi (by Kostolany x Ibikus) was the top scorer at Grand Prix level. Edward Gal and Gribaldi had some miscommunications in their ride, but the walk was good and tension seemed to disappear after this movement in the test. The pair scored 72.50%and won the Gand Prix Kur. The young Thamar Zweistra scored 70.41% aboard the 16-year old Rubiquil (by Rubinstein). The pair stood out with their tempi changes on the centerline and engaged passage, but the walk was too tense.
The VHO Trophy was awarded to the owners of Floriancio, who became the overall winner of this freestyle class.
