Saturday at the Danish Stallion Licensing is Dressage Day and Andreas Helgstrand won all three dressage classes on Dressage Day at the 2008 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark.
The competition started at 7.30 AM with the Prix St Georges kur to music. The class was won by Helgstrand aboard Blue Hors Leredo, a former Danish warmblood licensing champion by Leandro x Rafa L. The second place went to Danish young rider Anna Kasprzak on Blue Hors Future Cup (by Florestan), who rode a new freestyle based on Michael Jackson music. Anemette Holm Petersen and Græsmarkens Don Pedro (by Don Schufro x Aleksander) followed by Sanne Henningsen on Atterrupsgaards Molberg (by Michellino).
The materiale class for young stallions was won by Helgstrand aboard Blue Hors Hotline (by Hofrat). Previously shown by Anja Engelbart in Germany, Hotline now showed his superb gaits under Andreas, who is the head rider of the owner of the stallion, Lego mogul Mr K.K. Kristensen. They scored marks between 8 and 10s. The second place was for the delightful Skovens Rafael, a former auction price highlight (he sold for 1,2 million DKK last year at the licensing auction). This liver chestnut Blue Hors Romanow offspring reffer Helgstrand and Blue Hors Zack (by Rousseau) to the third place. Anna Blomgreen with Blue Hors Develino and Susanne Barnow on Onassis closed the rankings.
The Intermediaire II kur to music had 9 participants and the class was on by Helgstrand on Blue Hors Romanow (by Rohdiamant). The highlights of their test were the piaffe and passage which were clear in rhythm and which matched the music. Dutch rider Anke Ter Beek finished second on the Danish owned Trakehner stallion Kaiser Wilhelm (by Schwadroneur). Joachim Thomsen and Zardin Firfod (by Gribaldi) were third.
"It is such a wonderful day today," a happy Helgstrand briefly commented.
