The 2008 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction in Munster made history by achieving a new record price, for a pony! The 5-year old licensed pony stallion Crocodile Rock became the most expensive pony ever sold at a breed society's auction in Germany in history!
Crocodile Rock (by FS Cocky Dundee x Bavarottie) sold for 110,000 euro.
He is bred by Josef Dinkels and was owned by Friedhelm Tillmann. Under Lina Claren, the chestnut stallion was 2006 and 2007 Bundeschampion. The name of the buyer was not released but apparently s/he lives in Schleswig-Holstein.
The most expensive horse at the auction was the dark bay mare Sole Mio, a Show Star x Lamoureux II. The 4-year old mare, bred and owned by Mr Borkenfeld, sold for 195,000 euro. The new owner is Gina Capellmann who acquired the mare for her daughter Fabienne.
Second most expensive horse was the 5-year old liver chestnut stallion Fanconi. The licensed stallion by Fuchsberger x Fruhlingstraum II, presented at auction by Heinrich Sandhowe, sold for 110,000 euro to Switzerland. The 4-year old grey show jumping stallion Confident of Victory (by Cornet Obolensky x Damokles) sold for 62,000 euro.
Another highlight of the auction was the amazingly moving San Cavalier, a bay colt by Sam Amour out of a Rosenkavalier dam. Bred by Marion Sasse, this top colt sold for 70,000 to the Portuguese company Lusitanos Sport Ltd, based in Lisbon. The dressage rider behind the company is Portuguese young rider Boaventura Freire.
Forty-five riding horse were presented and they sold at an average price of 28,633 €.
