The KWPN sociey announced today the breeding index of the KWPN licensed stallions. The leading Dutch warmblood stallion with offspring older than 10 competing successfully in dressage is Cocktail (by Purioso x Le Val Blanc xx).
The deceased Cocktail has a breeding index score of 178 points and a reliability score of 91%. Anky's third international Grand Prix horse in her career (Prisco and Bonfire precede) branded dressage breeding for the Dutch warmblood society by producing multiple international FEI horses such as Keur stallion Jazz, Ashley Holzer's Imperioso or Quzandria Nur's Havel. Cocktail died of a heart attack in 1999.
The Oldenburg branded and KWPN approved Contango (by Contender x Kronprinz) finished second with the same breeding index score as Cocktail, but with a reliability of 90%. The American owned Contango untimely passed away in 2007 at his owner's Iron Spring Farm in Pennsylvania. Third place goes to Vincent (by Pretendent) with a score of 177 points/85% reliability. Jazz (by Cocktail x Ulster), who will certainly take first place in the years to come, now covers the fourth spot with 175 points and 96% reliability.
The most successful young stallion, with offspring between 7 and 9 years old competing, is Olivi (by Jazz x Aktion). He scored 158 points and has a breeding reliability of 83%. He's followed by Montecristo (by Clavecimbel) and Negro (by Ferro).
The KWPN also announced the breeding statistics for 2007. The most used KWPN licensed stallion in 2007 is Jazz with 304 breedings in 2007. In second place is Johnson (by Jazz x Flemmingh). The former KWPN licensing champion and Pavo Cup reserve champion covered 296 mares. Vivaldi (Krack C x Jazz) is third with 237 breedings.
