The riders who have been selected for the 2009-2011 British Dressage World Class Development Programme have been named. Selection for the Lottery-funded programme, which has been designed to identify and develop riders with potential to reach the world stage
, takes place bi-annually and has several categories.
World Class Performance Director Will Connell said: “A number of riders who were part of the 2007/8 programme have been re-selected, demonstrating the structure of training is effective, and some new faces have appeared, indicating the selection process continues to be consistent and fair.
“The standard of riding at the selection trials continues to improve, which is essential if Britain is to win more medals on the international stage at European, World, Olympic and Paralympic level.”
All the riders have access to advice on equine and human health, fitness and nutrition as well as receiving training and attending regular squad sessions.
