International Grand Prix rider Catherine Haddad has signed with Schockemoehle Sports to extend their sponsoring contract for 2009. Haddad will assist in the development of new products through intensive testing and will offer feedback on the developing product line.
“We are happy to get the opinion of one of the leading dressage riders. Catherine Haddad is an international and a local favorite in the sport who lives only ten kilometers from our business center. We know Catherine personally for many years and appreciate her style of riding”, says Franz Schockemöhle, manager of Schockemöhle sports which is located in Lohne near Vechta. Franz Schockemoehle is the nephew of Paul Schockemoehle whose stallion station has become one of the biggest in the world.
Schockemoehle Sports has sponsored Haddad since 2007 and produces its own line of riding clothes, bridles, saddles, rugs and much more. “I’m impressed with the commitment to quality in Schockemoehle products,” says the American born Haddad who lives and trains in Germany since 1993. “In particular I can’t say enough good things about the travel gear for horses. You cannot find a better set of shipping boots on the market.” She is currently working together with Franz Schockemoehle to develop a practical line of double bridles.
Haddad can be seen on the World Cup tour this winter sporting Schockemoehle jackets and britches. She is currently ranked 8th in the Western European League and her next start will be the CDI-W Neumünster in Germany, Feb 12-15. Maximus JSS, the 15 year old Danish gelding who placed 7th in the FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas 2007 will get the start. “Maximus is going better and better at home. I think he will hold his own in the tough World Cup competition next weekend.”
Either Cadillac or Sir Sherlock JSS will start in the national Grand Prix tour at Neumuenster. “Cadillac is going to start in Gothenburg CDI-W (SWE) on the next weekend so I’m thinking about taking Sherlock along for the second tour although I am still undecided. He is still relatively green at this level and could use the experience.”
Cadillac has gained much experience at Grand Prix in recent months and was able to win the Grand Prix Special at Leipzig CDI4* in January. Haddad is the first American to win an international Grand Prix in Europe since 2003. At the Lyon CDI5* in 2008 she also won the Coup de Coeur Trophy with Cadillac, an award given to the horse/rider pair who impressed the spectators most.
“I’m hoping a big future with all three of these horses and it’s a great honor for me to have the support of Schockemoehle Sports as a sponsor.” Haddad has the goals of the World Cup Final 2009 and the World Equestrian Games 2010 in her sights.
