The black pearl Uno Donna Unique has won the 2009 Danish Young Horse Championships held at the Danish warmblood stallion licensing in Herning, Denmark, March 4-8, 2009.
Uno Donna Unique, by Don Schufro x Falkland, was the leader after the first round, the presentation under saddle by the horses' steady riders. She scored top marks under Andreas Helgstrand, who took over the ride on the mare a few months ago from Dorthe Sjobeck Hoeck. Today, the second round took place in which nine top ranked horses were ridden by guest judge rider Rune Willum and Uno Donna Unique maintained her leader's position.
Rine Willum scored Uno Donna Unique 400 points with a 10 for rideability and potential. Added up to her previous 540 point score, her marks totalled 940 points; the highest of all horses in competition. Willum called the mare "a complete horse, a league of her own" and said that "this was a really good ride," after dismounting her.
Andreas Helgstrand's Hønnerups Driver (by Blue Hors Romanov x Don Schufro) finished in reserve champion's position. The liver chestnut received 390 points from the guest judge rider and his overall score became 911 points.
Jim Rasmussen and Alibi D (by Alcazar x Coriander) slotted in third after the second round.. The bay gelding pulled himself up in the ranking from a fifth provisional place to a final third spot after scoring 350 points under the guest judge rider.
John Hvalsø Saul and the chestnut mare Whoopi (by De Noir x Blue Hors Hertug) finished fourth after round 2. The mare scored 8.5 for walk, 8.0 for trot and 7.5 for canter. She also got an 8.0 for potential and the guest judge scored her 320 points. With a total of 795 points, Whoopi ended fourth. She will be up for auction and the auction of Danish warmblood sport horses and stallions after the licensing.
