The Munich Nurnberg Burgpokal qualifier was won by Isabell Werth on Madeleine Winter-Schulze's bay Hanoverian gelding Don Johnson (by Don Frederico x Warkant). The pair scored 72.250 % to obtain a ticket for the finals, held in Frankfurt in the winter of 2009. The Nurnberg Burgpokal is a championship for 7 to 9-year old Prix St Georges horses. Hendrik Lochthowe and the Luxembourg bred Oldenburg licensed stallion Rubin Cortes (by Rubin Royal x Calmiro) placed second.

The second leg of the 2009 World Dressage Masters took place at the CDI Munich. Isabell Werthand her star ride Satchmo (by Sao Paulo) won the Grand Prix with 77.915%. Finnish Kyra Kyrklund, who was the first to go in the class, place second with her Swedish warmblood Max (by Master) on 72.340 %.

Dutch rider Sander Marijnissen is having a great show in Munich, Germany. With his small tour horse Sander, the Dutch rider won the Intermediaire I (after having claimed the PSG to himself) and he won the World Dressage Masters Consolation Finals Grand Prix Special with Moedwil (by Goodwill).

Isabell Werth and Satchmo (by Sao Paulo x Legat) have won the Munich World Dressage Masters Kur to Music with a whopping score of 84.75%. Only six riders in total rode the Kur to Music finals. Finnish Kyra Kyrkland landed second placed aboard the Swedish warmblood Max (by Master) on 79.200%

The second leg of the 2009 World Dressage Masters, staged at the former Olympic Stadium of Munich, produced some great sport with winners representing the leading dressage countries of the world, Germany and The Netherlands. Thirty-eight year old Dutchman Sander Marijnissen took the win in the Grand Prix Special aboard his huge Dutch bred Moedwil (Goodwill x Beaujolais) with an 71,500% score.
