The 54-year old Norwegian Trond Asmyr has been appointed new FEI Director of Dressage. He is succeeding the Swedish Eva Salomon who resigned from her position in May 2009, while the announcement of her departure was made in January 2009.
Salomon was head of the FEI dressage department for six years.
Trond Asmyr has been judging for more than 30 years. He has been an international dressage I-judge for fifteen years and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian Equestrian Federation for more than a decade. The past six years he served as vice president.
Asmyr was the administrative director of Sabra Tours, a Norwegian tour operator. He resigned from that position in March 2009. The Norwegian businessman will take up his position as FEI Dressage Director in Lausanne, Switzerland, on June 20, 2009.
