At the Bundeschampionate qualifier in Uberherrn, June 26-28, 2009, Luxembourg rider Sascha Schulz won the 5-year old division with Fürstengruß, an Oldenburg bred Fürst Heinrich offspring. They scored 8.0. None of the other 5-year olds were able to qualify for Verden. Not even the winner of the six-year olds, achieved 8.0 or more. Nicole Casper and Birkhofs Dave (by Denaro) got stuck at 7.60.
The same weekend a BuCha qualifier was held in Wolfskehlen. No horses were able to achieve the criterium for participating at the 2009 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. The 5-year old division was won by Meike Lang on the Baden Wurttemberger bred Friedemann (by French Kiss) with a score of 7.8. Thomas Diehl and the Hanoverian Dirty Dancing (by Depardieu) won the six-year old division with 7.6.
