Westpoint, the 2009 World Young Horse Champion in the 6-year old division, has been sold to Dutch travel agency mogul Cees Broere of Stud Farm Broere. The black licensed KWPN stallion by Jazz x Michelangelo will be a future prospect for Broere head trainer Kirsten Beckers.
Westpoint is bred by M. Habraken and was sold to the Jespers and Van de Lageweg family as a 2-year old at the stallion licensing. He became reserve champion at the grading and won the stallion performance test the same year.
Emmelie Scholtens trained and competed the stallion at national and international level. He became the 4-year old Pavo Cup champion and was reserve champion as a 5-year old. He was also the reserve champion of the KWPN/KNHS Stallion competition.
The stallion gained international recognition when he won the 2009 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, and attracted much interest from buyers world wide. It was millionaire Broere who secured the stallion's ownership. Westpoint will be standing at stud at Broere's station in Ablasserdam, where you can also find stallions Jazz, Montecristo, Valdez and Bristol.
