Eight KWPN stallions have become officially licensed following a successful completion of their autumn 50-day Stallion Performance Test in Stegeren, The Netherlands. Three dressage stallions and five show jumpers were approved.
It was the first time this year that stallions which competed in the VION Cup or PAVO cup could qualify directly for the Stallion Performance Test. One stallion was approved through this system: Chellthago Z (by Chellano Z x Carthago).
The highest scoring dressage stallion was the 2009 KWPN licensing champion Bordeaux (by United x Gribaldi). The bay colt, which is owned by Joop van Uytert and Paul Schockemohle, scored 82 points. The judges especially liked his balanced and ground covering canter.
Bojengel (previously named Baron ter Kwincke and Benedict, by Uptown x Gribaldi) scored 81 points and received his green card for KWPN breeding. The bay stallion showed great rideability, a super walk, but could have flexed the hocks more. He was acquired for 40,000 euro by the syndicate of Wes Trade Stable, Stal de Bekelaar and Serge Pais at the 2009 KWPN Select Sale auction.
Breezer (by Johnson x Sultan) scored 78,5 points and was praised for his great character and rideability. The test riders had a really good feeling on this horse so he was licensed by the committee.
