Not a riding horse but the 2,5-year old colt Diamond Song (by Diamond Hit x Sandro Song) became the price highlight of the 2009 Winter Mixed Sales in Vechta, Germany. Bred by the Olbrich Family, this bay colt sold for 55,000 euro to Baden Wurttemberg.
Most expensive riding horse was the 3-year old dark bay Star Agent (by Sandro Hit x Argentinus). Danish Grand Prix rider Andreas Helgstrand and his sponsors Lotte and Ole Vagner acquired this prospect for 42,500 euro. This horse is bred by Barbara Bettin-Schulze-Schleppinghoff, wife of Oldenburg breeding director Dr. Wolfgang Schulze-Schleppinghoff.
Canadian Olympic rider and trainer, Evi Strasser, won the bid for Dow Jones (Don Larino x St.Pr.St. Fatima (Rouletto)) at 19,000 euro. Dow Jones has already won and placed at A level in dressage. An American dressage rider purchased the liver chestnut Soduku (by Sorento x Argentinus x Shogun xx) for 40,000 euro.
Forty-five riding horses, five 2,5 year old colts and three brood mares were sold in total. The average price for a riding horse was 14,967 euro.
