Andretti, Zhivago and Westenwind have won the third leg of 2009-2010 KWPN Stallion Competition at equestrian centre Den Goubergh in Roosendaal, The Netherlands, today December 9, 2009.
At L-level Andretti (by Special D x Sandro Hit) continued his blue streak from last week's competition in Hengelo. The black beauty, which was originally entrusted to Belgian FEI pony rider Julie van Olst as part of the Dutch-Belgian IPS project, is now steadily campaigned by Dutch Theo Hanzon in the KWPN Stallion Competition. He beat Ampere (by Rousseau x Flemmingh) under Emmelie Scholtens with 77,5 points. Scholtens also finished third with Apache (by UB40).
Theo Hanzon and the 5-year old Zhivago (by Krack C x Jazz) continued their string of success winning the M-level test. The stallion scored solid 8,5 for gaits and overall impression totalling 85 points. Gerdine Maree had her temperamental Ziesto (by Lancet x Clavecimbel) more focused and finished second with 84 points. Hans Peter Minderhoud and Zizi Top (by Tango x Ferro) placed third with 82 points.
It wasn't hard for Westenwind (by Flemmingh x Contango) to win the Z-level class as he was the only entered stallion. Under Emmelie Scholtens, the dark bay stallion showed good trotwork and canter-walk transitions for which he scored an 8.
